Pre Civil War Flint Glass

Early American Pressed Glass Open Compote. I believe that this is considered "Colonial" Pattern. There are illustrations of this pattern in Ruth Webb Lee's Early American Pressed Glass, Plates 2 and 10.

It is ~8-3/4" diameter and ~8" tall, in wonderful condition and rings as clear as a bell. The stem apppears to penetrate the bottom of the bowl so the bowl and the base must have been made seperately and then joined. There are shear marks inside the bowl which can be seen in the second image. There are inclusions and voids in the glass and appropriate wear on the bottom.
